Hi! I’m Elaine and I’ve been in the Okanagan wine industry since 2010.

“What were you doing before that?” you ask. I was in Vancouver applying my MSc. doing cancer research while playing competitive ultimate frisbee. “Hrm, interesting transition…” Well, there is lots of Science in fermented beverages and I wanted something a bit more creative so I headed to Adelaide, South Australia to get my Oenology degree. Then returned to BC and moved to the heart of wine country! “What does it all mean?” I now have 13+ years in the wine industry and 22 years of experience in lab work so you can trust me to perform lab analysis on your product, I’m BC VQA certified, and offer sample pick-up (please e-mail for days I may be in your area). I can also visit you on-site and clean up, calibrate, set up your lab so you know everything is running smoothly.

“Sounds great, what else?” I love talking about wine, cider, distillation and beer. I also enjoy educating or learning from others no matter their level of knowledge so I became an Instructor for the Continuing Studies Wine Program at OC in Penticton. I can also help you to improve performance, provide guidance through re-branding, aid in organization and cellar efficiency, set up research projects, advise on health and safety committee formation, and anything sensory like blending, tasting notes and even training retail staff.

Oh yeah, I also have 2 lovely Rhodesian Ridgebacks that often keep me company while I’m doing lab work.
